The pristine gardens and lawns of Fort Hamilton provide stunning views of the Hamilton Harbour. A wonderful place for an afternoon picnic, or to explore the grounds and it's variety of tropical plants, birds, lizards and frogs. . Construction of this historic fort was undertaken around 1870, and was intended to provide protection for the British Naval Fleet, the British Garrison and the Harbour. The Fort was restored to it's current condition in the 1960s, and has been re-purposed as a popular tourist attraction. This Fort is located on the eastern edge of the City of Hamilton, and provides Bermudaful views of all ships sailing in or out of Hamilton Harbour.
