Work Permits
- In order to work in Bermuda, you will need to obtain a work permit. Only an employer can apply for a work permit. The employee can only enter the country to work after receiving permission.

Bringing your family to Bermuda
Your Spouse, Partner, or children are permitted to stay in Bermuda for the duration of your work permit. To learn more, you can see the Bermuda Work Permit Policy
English language requirement
Persons coming to work in Bermuda in construction or from Portuguese Territories are required to have a ‘working knowledge’ of the English language.
Searching for work in Bermuda

Enrolling your kids in school
- All children under the age of 18 are required to attend school
- Education for children of residents of Bermuda is free. See the Bermuda Education Act 1996
Retiring in Bermuda
To retire in Bermuda you and/or your spouse must own residential property in Bermuda or have been gainfully employed in Bermuda for at least five years. (Source: Government of Bermuda knowledge base)

If you're staying in Bermuda for a period of 30 days or more you may obtain a driver's license and purchase your own vehicle
Finding a place to Live
If you're coming to Bermuda to work, you'll need to find a place to stay. A great place to start your search is by speaking with your prospective employer, or by looking contacting one of the islands rental agencies or real estate agents.
